Community Living

Regardless of health issues or disability, it is important for people to live in a dignified home of their choice and to participate in the community as they choose.

With support and training, the majority of individuals Riverfront serves are able to live in their own homes or apartments.  Supports range from drop-in assistance to 24-hour live-in support depending upon individual needs and desires.

Riverfront assists individuals to develop knowledge and skills in health and nutrition, cooking, home maintenance, grocery shopping, money management, and other areas of independent living.  Riverfront also provides mobility training, which includes pedestrian training and use of public or specialized transportation.

Our community living services include:

  • Community Resource Program - one-on-one or group support that allows individuals to access community settings and activities.  Services are available in La Crosse, Jackson, and Buffalo counties.

  • Residential Support - Adult family homes provide the support necessary to enable adults with disabilities to live in a home and be actively engaged in their community.  The Live-By program provides the support necessary for adults with disabilities to live in their own residences in the community.

  • Skill Training - provides support and training ranging from drop-in assistance to 24-hour live-in support depending on needs.
