Work experiences are part of Riverfront’s employment services that assist individuals in finding the job of their choice in the community. The program allows people to explore career options and learn occupational skills through hands-on training within the workplace setting. Persons participating in a work experience are given a chance to try out a job with a local business for a limited period of time. During this time, the worker has the opportunity to explore whether the job fits his or her abilities and interests, and the employer has the opportunity to assess the worker’s skills and how well they fit into the position. After the work experience is complete, the employer has the option to hire the worker directly.
