Gary Fox, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), leads Riverfront's Mental Health Services in Winona. Gary is a credentialed professional with many years of experience providing mental health services. A native Georgian, Gary earned his Bachelor degree in psychology at the University of North Carolina. He earned his Master's degree in Professional Counseling and the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8) in the Marine Corp Reserves.
Gary served as lead counselor in the largest mental health hospital in Atlanta, treating acute and chronic mental illness/substance abuse. After years of operating a successful practice in Atlanta, Gary moved to Minnesota to be closer to family and began working for Riverfront.
Avis Marino joined Riverfront as a Vocational Specialist and Case Manager in 2004. She has been serving as a Mental Health Professional since 2006, supporting clients on their path to recovery.
A native of the area, Avis graduated from UW-La Crosse with a major in Education and a minor in Sociology. Her professional experience has included a variety of responsibilities in the area of human services, and ongoing training keeps her up-to-date with the changing needs of clients seeking Mental Health services.
Ross Grover serves Riverfront Mental Health Services in a variety of areas. He is skilled in counseling in work-related issues, crisis intervention, and relationship management skills. He conducts group therapy in social integration.
Ross spent his early childhood in Chicago, then moved to the Tomah area. After graduating from University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, Ross moved back to this area, and has been with Riverfront for more than two years.
Barbara K. Huning, MA LP, Minnesota Licensed Psychologist (MLP), has many years of experience as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. She has worked with people of all ages and from all walks of life with a wide range of mental illnesses. Barbara specializes in helping people recover from traumatic life events while bringing an uplifting, creative approach to her work.
Barbara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Earlham College in 1981, and a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy from Antioch University in 1985. She now lives in Caledonia and is an active member of the community.
Michelle Stanek is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She started her career at Riverfront in the fall of 2010, and began working in the Winona Mental Health Services office in January of 2012.
Michelle works with individuals addressing symptom management, to help them maintain independent living skills while they are in recovery. Her work promotes greater independence through supporting employment related skills, increasing community integration and improving the support networks for each individual
