In 2006, Riverfront took the suggestion of our Advisory & Advocacy Committee and planned a trip to a far away destination.  Many of Riverfront's participants visited New York City.  For some, it was their first time leaving the area.  The Recreation Program staff planned the trip which included a Broadway show, a visit to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  They also saw the Empire State Building and much, much more.

The Recreation Program staff planned a trip to South Dakota in 2007.  Participants got to see Mt. Rushmore, the badlands, and Custer State Park.  In 2008, the group decided to the most obvious next destination would be Disney World in Florida.  The group visited Epcot Center and The Magic Kingdom.  They also saw shows including The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

For more information, contact Kelly Porter at (608) 784-9450.

There are many trips planned for 2011.  Click here for more information.
