Choose the type of housing that suits your needs.
Adult Family Homes
If you choose a Riverfront Adult Family Home, you’ll live with two or three other people. In addition to your housemates, there will be Riverfront staff at your home to provide the support you need. You can be an active community member by attending events, recreational activities, religious services—whatever interests you. Our Adult Family Homes allow you to make friends and pursue your interests on your own time.
Riverfront currently has six adult family homes: three in La Crosse and three in Janesville. Each housemate has his or her own bedroom and shares the common living areas with others in the house. You can bring your own furniture and decorate your room—it’s your home!
If you are part of the La Crosse Live-By program, you’ll live on your own. A Riverfront staff member lives nearby, right in your neighborhood. You’ll have regularly scheduled support from your Riverfront neighbor for those few things you do need help with; maybe laundry or grocery shopping. On top of that, Riverfront always has a staff member on call for any critical things that might come up.
When you’re independent enough that you don’t need anyone nearby, you can still schedule services to drop in and help you improve your independent living skills. For example, if you’re not feeling confident in the kitchen, Riverfront staff will provide cooking training to help you become a better cook.
