Recreation

The Riverfront Recreation Program provides a number of recreational opportunities for both Riverfront Participants and the general public. Some of the activities coordinated by the Recreation program include Monday Night Bowling, Tuesday Night Specials, Day Trips, Extended Trips, and the Riverfront Dancers.

Monday Night Bowling is a larger group activity held at All Star Lanes from 3:30-5:00pm. There are approximately 50 people who attend bowling on a weekly basis.

The Tuesday Night Specials take place two times per month and offer a wide range of different opportunities. Some of the activities that have been offered as Tuesday night Specials include: rides on the La Crosse Queen or Island Girl, Loggers Games, flying with Colgan Air Services, and shows at the UWL Planetarium.

The Day Trips and Extended Trips offer participants the opportunity to access recreational activities in other parts of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Past trips include going to Valleyfair, Green Bay Packer Training camp, fishing and camping trips, Milwaukee Brewers games, and biking the Root River bike trail.

If you are interested in participating in any recreation activities, or would like more information on the program, please contact Kelly Holzer at 784-9450.
