Collaboration Brings New Sixteen Pines Residential Living to Life
Soon more community living options will be available for adults with disabilities in the Coulee Region. Riverfront, Inc. and Four Loons, LLC are collaborating to provide supported, independent living in a four-bedroom licensed Adult Family Home and eight newly constructed accessible one-bedroom, single-story log homes.
“We are pleased to be working with Mary Scheel at Four Loons, LLC,” said Mary Kessens, President and CEO of Riverfront. “She shares our vision of providing innovative community based services for adults with disabilities. We both want to foster independent living options.”
The Adult Family Home, opening April 1st, is structured to increase independence. On-site Riverfront staff will provide training for independent living skills like cleaning, personal safety, and nutrition and cooking.
Construction of the eight new homes will align with Riverfront’s innovative “Live-By” program. Individuals in the program live independently, and Riverfront staff living in the neighborhood provide both scheduled support and 24/7 emergency support. In keeping with the look of the neighborhood, the homes will be Amish-built log cabins.
