Riverfront Participants are Winners at Special Olympics Wisconsin
Riverfront participants were among the nearly 2,000 athletes from around the state competing in the last weekend’s Special Olympics Wisconsin. In the La Crosse area, athletes had a special “Torch-Run” send-off from La Crosse and Onalaska law enforcement officers. Talena Shilling was among the Riverfront participants that earned medals. She brought home a Gold in Dead Lift with 215 pounds, a Silver in Bench Press at 115 pounds, and a Silver for the All Around. No matter where or if they “placed” Riverfront Special Olympians are meeting fitness goals and winning better health in the process.
